Having seen so many lovely versions of this pinafore on Instagram, I decided I needed one!

The pattern has two lengths and pocket styles

I cut this out as long as I could having bought a metre of this heavy cotton fabric from Ikea. The length was mid way between view A and B so I used bias binding to hem and eke out an extra cm. I used a fancy stitch to top stitch the binding and stabilise the hem as this fabric frayed really badly!

The pockets are a great shape, I used the bias edge again at the pocket opening, and attached the pocket with two rows of stitches. I used Helen’s tip to curve the edge by using the differential feed turned up on my overlocker to create a gathered edge.

The instructions are super clear, explaining how to choose sizes and make bias binding as well as pictures and tips throughout. Lots of useful info if you are new to sewing too.

I didn’t bother pattern matching the pockets as I wanted them to be easily seen 😺
